Highland Brewing holds their annual Christmas retreat at Big Butte. Now it is the name of their latest craft brew.  Highland Brewing Company It is rare in this day and age, with all the hustle and bustle of daily life, to find a place where it is possible to actually “step back in time” to a calmer, more peaceful world. My family and I have been visiting Big Butte for 20 years and with every visit I am more amazed at it’s tranquility and serenity. What could be better than spending time playing in trout ponds, the rocky river, old orchards, bamboo gardens or the high lake. We never grow tired of exploring all of the nooks and crannies of the nostalgic log cabins, The Lodge and the unique and quirky Mini Buttes. There are many wonderful places in the Western North Carolina mountains and Big Butte is the top of my list!! Valerie Helmick |
